Williamsport Days

During the fourth full weekend of August of each year the Town sponsors Williamsport Days. This event started in 1976 as a Bicentennial activity. It was so popular that the Mayor and Council appointed a committee to organize and run it as an annual event known as C & O Canal Days. Initially, all of the activities were held on Salisbury Street but soon moved to Byron Memorial Park where craft and food vedors sell their wares, live music performances occur, civil war reenactors set up camp, and people from all over gather and socialize. This weekend, now known as Williamsport Days since 2006, typically kicks off with a street dance held on Friday evening on the first block of Salisbury Street. Throughout the weekend a Trolley runs from the Park to Cushwa Basin where the National Park Service sponsors activities and events to promote the history and heritage of the C & O Canal. Come join the fesitivities of our premier event!

A specific calender of the activities will be prepared and posted closer to the event.

If you are vendor who is interested in participating in Williamsport Days, feel free to print out the Event Application and return it with your fee. Please call Bobbi Cole, Williamsport Day Committee Chairman, at 301-223-1567 with any questions you may have.
