Join us for the 10th Annual WWII Weekend in Williamsport MD. Saturday & Sunday, October 14th & 15th, 2017 – Family friendly and free to attend!
We are very excited to announce this year’s event, as we welcome back many of the same faces you’ve seen in the past, and say hello to the sights and sounds of the 1940’s! Friday night kicks off the event with a WWII movie shown in the Springfield Barn USO at 7pm.
As in years past, we will still have Military Living History Displays and Exhibits going on all day Saturday & Sunday. The Home Front offers Victory Garden Master Gardener’s display, the Girl Scouts with 1940’s games for children, Cars of the 30’s & 40’s, “Knit your Bit”, 1940’s Hairstyles, and more!
On Saturday a Veterans Recognition ceremony and presentation will be held for local WWII Veterans. Join us for a meet & greet with them also! Other speakers, presenters and demonstrations will happen throughout the weekend. There will be vendors on site with period goods, plus catered food and drinks available at the event.
On Saturday at 2pm we will welcome back the 1940’s Fashion Show, together with dance performances and music. Immediately following the Fashion Show, the Potomac Playmakers who will be doing a live radio show presentation, together with the live music of the Williamsport Community Jazz Band. It is sure to be a memorable ‘live broadcast’ program!
Saturday evening we invite you to come back to the Springfield Barn USO for live music of the 1940’s performed by Jump Alley. The Lindy-Hoppers will be there to add some dance numbers, and light refreshments will be available. The concert begins at 7pm, and there will be a free dance lesson held the hour before the concert. $10 per person or $15 per couple at the door. Period dress is of course encouraged, but not necessary – just come out and join us for the show, bring some friends, and have fun!
On Sunday morning we will start the day with a church service in the Springfield Barn at 10am. There will be living history displays and demonstrations. The event will conclude with a Salute to Veterans concert performed by the Williamsport Community Band, in the barn at 3pm.

Please note: Registration for this event has changed. In the past, reenactors registered individually, but now, we are asking for group registration. Please talk with your unit leader to make sure they register your group for the event. Thank you
